Professor Luntz is a summa cum laude graduate of the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University.
Following an ENT residency at Sapir Medical Center, she worked as a senior physician at Sheba Medical Center in Tel HaShomer, and in 1994 left to United States for a two-year sub specialization in medicine and otology (ear and hearing surgery) – in children and adults, and in otoneurology at the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, United States.
Upon her return, she was appointed as the director of an ENT department at Bnei Zion Hospital in Haifa and focused on building from the ground up the program of Medicine, Surgery and Rehabilitation of the Ear and Hearing, which also included the cochlear implant project, a service that was not available until then in the North.
Prof. Michal Luntz is an active researcher who has published over a hundred medical articles in her fields of expertise. She delivers lectures at and co-organizes of international scientific conferences in Israel and around the world and teaches at the Faculty of Medicine of the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion), and at the Department of Medical Professions and the Department of Communication Disorders at the University of Haifa.
In addition, Professor Luntz is a member of the scientific secretariat of the European Academy – for Otology (Medicine and Surgery of the Ear and Hearing), and a member of the American Union of Otology, whereby she promotes the scientific and clinical activity in these areas. Over the years, she was also devoted to research and lecturing at many universities, including Miami University, Cambridge University, Cornell University, the British Royal Society, University of Rome and University of Hanover.
Among the many awards and certificates of recognition awarded to Professor Luntz, in 2002 Professor Michal Luntz received an award for her unique contribution to breakthroughs in science and technology by the Prime Minister’s Office.
Together with Prof. Roee Landsberg and Prof. Avi Hefetz, Prof. Michal Luntz founded the A.R.M Center in 2009.
